I tested my PAL-version with emulator and the opening animation didn't work either, so it's an emulator issue.
In-game time is about 32 minutes. Movie Input file is 36:42 (132110 frames).
I haven't calculated how much this can be improved but I would guess 15 seconds is quite close.
